Twins mean twice the fun | Portland, OR family photographer
What do you get when you get a family shoot with Mama and two five-year-old twins?
Twice the fun.
Meet Stacey—otherwise known as Snickollet on her blog—and her twins, Maddy and Riley.
I first “met” Stacey just over three years ago, online through her blog. And lo and behold, one day I discovered from it that she grew up in Portland…and when she moved back to Portland from Boston almost 2 1/2 years ago, we got to cement our friendship in person. Woohoo!
She has an annual tradition of getting pictures taken with the twins every year at their birthday, and this year, she also bought a home in North Portland a month before the twins turned five. What better way to commemorate the two milestones than to do a family photo session at their new home?
Here are some of my favorites!

Riley was ridiculously easy to photograph, a trait confirmed by his mom. He was such a natural.

Maddy, on the other hand, made me work harder.
But oh, when we got her relaxing and temporarily forgetting that she was having her pictures taken, she gave us the goods too. ;o)

…Especially with the snuggles and tickles with Mama.

This one of the two kids was one of my particular faves.

The kids had just learned to ride their bikes without training wheels less than a week before our session. They wanted them off and took off pedaling right away—a fact that boggles my mind. (The one time my daughter—who’s almost 2 years older!—wanted her training wheels off, it lasted less than 2 minutes and a single pass up and down our very short driveway before she wanted them back on.) To document their new rite of passage, we also got some photos of them sporting their newfound two-wheeled talents.

One perk of their new home is that it has apartment space for their grandpa—Plain Ba, as they call him—when he visits some weekends from Eugene. He was there the weekend of our session too, so we were able to include him too.

Thanks again for asking me to take your photos, Stacey! It was so much fun!
Love the relaxed and beautiful poses .

Thanks so much for doing our photo shoot this year, Candice! The images are fantastic, and you were very patient with the sometimes unfocused and occasionally cranky kids (and Mama!) I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Glad you loved them, Stacey, and trust me—they (you?) weren’t cranky and unfocused at all! =) It was a ton of fun!

Absolutely stunning, thank you for sharing these lovely faces of people who have lost so much and are full of life. You are very talented as a photographer at seeing the light within your subjects.
